The  Amazon’s Relational Database Service (RDS) is an Amazon Web Services Database Service. The Amazon RDS service makes it easier to set up, expand and to work with relational databases in the AWS Cloud.   

In short, it is a type of Relational Database. But first of all, let’s talk about the basics. Let’s know what a database is. 

What is a database?

A database is an important back-end system that processes the data and activities of a user. Database is a strongly planned system to store, update and delete data on a server. It is used to produce software like SQL, De34feJango and MS Access, etc.

 In other words, Databases are the storage houses for applications that store data from users, devices and the applications too. They store, manage, update and analyze data for any type of application. 

What are the benefits of using the Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)? 

The following are the benefits of using the Amazon’s Relational Database Service (RDS):

There is no more need for installing and maintaining database software or providing infrastructure. Amazon Relational Database Services (RDS) makes the deployment of projects easy.  

2. Ability to grow:  

With Amazon RDS, you can easily increase the compute and storage resources of the database by just clicking your mouse a few times.   

3. Available and long-lasting:  

Amazon RDS works on the same trust-worthy infrastructure as that used by the other Amazon services. Amazon has many other features that increase trust for critical production database which include database snapshots, automated backups and automatic host replacement.

Amazon RDS uses a very trustworthy system that supports even the most demanding database applications. There are two options to choose from:   

• SSD-backed storage optimized for high-performance OLTP applications.  
• SSD-backed storage for economical general-purpose use.  

5. Secure:  

Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) simplifies the process of controlling network access to your database. It allows you to connect to your existing IT infrastructure through an industry-aligned encrypted IPsec VPN. Many other Amazon RDS engines provide encryption.  

6. Economical rate:  

One of the best things about Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) is that you only have to pay for the services that you actually use. Thus, it saves any useless waste of money. The Amazon RDS services are really cheap. There are no up-front or long-term commitments with Amazon to pay for the services.  

You can easily make use of all these services with Amazon’s Relational Database Service (RDS) that is highly inexpensive, easy to use, secure, fast and just a click away from you. There are no reasons for you to not use the RDS service.
